As you may know, the highly anticipated film adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is due for release on Boxing Day, and H&M have collaborated with Trish Summerville (responsible for the costumes in the film) to produce a collection which reflects the personality of the main character, Lisbeth Salander. Although the collection has come under fire already, I also feel that H&M have produced a rather disappointing collaboration this time. Usually known for their quirky and much-anticipated workings with figures in the fashion world, the clothes from this line are far from inspiring or noteworthy. Although they reflect the portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the book, I think that they have seriously stereotyped her 'grunge' fashion taste, and could have down a slightly different route than the generic ripped t-shirts and leather trousers. Nevertheless, I can't wait to see the film and how they have gone about adapting the book!
