Disney Fever

Disney fever has officially hit London town this week with Harrods' recent unveiling of their new window displays, which show some of our favourite Disney princesses dressed head to toe in couture and some of the hottest designers around. The classic heroines got a very stylish and chic makeover by the likes of Jenny Packham, Missoni, Marchesa and Versace, so if you're in the area, I definitely recommend checking them out.

Sketches for the designs
These gorgeous Disney creations really bring the spirit of Christmas magic to life, and they also reminded me of a recent discovery of mine, again involving a similar theme. I came across the online blog/portfolio of a very talented graphic designer who had, as part of a project, tried to digitally create what he imagined some Disney characters might look like in real life. I love the results (shown below), which I think really capture the essence of what these women might be like if we were to see them. Still beautiful, but with a strange human quality to them. I love this guy's work—check out more of his designs here, and some more takes on Disney characters here.

Versace x H&M

After a much-anticipated wait, the full Versace x H&M collection has been unveiled. I remember this time last year when everyone was eagerly awaiting Lanvin's collaboration with the store and then in the end, some of the dresses were even in the sales. I really do like this collection though and, given Versace's legendary status, I think it will do brilliantly. I'm not a huge fan of the bold and clashing prints, but the pink and leather studded mini dresses and the iconic Versace-print silk skirt and leather jacket are a must-have.

Bits & Pieces

A few snippets of fashion news from the last few days...

1. A few more photos from my shoot with the lovely Rob from One Image, additions to the Fall Fairytale you can find here:

2. Versace x H&M collection is becoming even more hotly anticipated ahead of its launch in stores in November and, if these sneak-peak images are anything to go by, we will be seeing a revival of the Versace classics from the 80s, inspired by the late Versace's legacy and heyday. You know I ll be one of those people camping in front of the store!

3. A few of my favourite October covers and the corresponding labels they are sporting (via Gia Magazine):

Burberry Prorsum

Giambattista Valli

Gucci

Versace

4. The Bertrand Times October Issue is out and you can read it online here. Check out what editor Bertrand has done with the photos from this shoot in the Enchanting Poise story.

From the archives

Someone on twitter earlier this week made a very valid comment: 'Have June and April made some sort of a pact to switch places this year or what?' And yes, it seems that they have-I don't think I have ever seen it rain here every day. But enough about the weather. Since I won't be able to post any outfits anytime soon due to the monsoon we're having I dug up these old photos from a photoshoot I did a couple of years ago on a beach in Brean (I think that's what it's called). It was soo cold and so windy but we had a lot of fun. This dress I got about 3 years ago in New Look and I still wear it-in fact its good for both summer and winter looks as you may remember from this post.

And, in other news, is everyone excited about the announcement that Versace are to design a line for H&M? As a huge H&M fan I'm happy that so many big names in fashion are opting to do diffusion lines for the store because it means that ordinary folks like us can have a slice of high fashion at an affordable price. And judging by the pre-spring line that Donatella has designed for H&M (due to launch in January next year), the main collection (which is due to go on sale this November) is bound to be a huge hit.
